Summer does not want to go away.
It wants to bloom and stay.
Our last warm day was bursting with color,
as if the flowers somehow knew,
and decided to put on a show.
Fall leaves have not yet turned into colors.
That is unusually late here in New England.
No wonder summer is having a last hurrah.

Nature seems to bent on it’s destruction of so much of the earth that it has forgotten to start Fall.
We can keep Summer alive in our hearts and in our memories are and in a blanket sitting next to the fire…

Yes, indeed. The flower competition recently seems pretty intense. I will enjoy every moment of their summer beauty. Unfortunately our dry summer will probably result in a less brilliant fall leaf color. Best to you, Bruce.

Beautiful colors—one last summer fling. I hope your school year is off to a good start.
It always seems like the last colors are especially beautiful. The school year started off a bit rocky with Covid- teachers and children. Having subs is hard when you’re trying to build a relationship and classroom continuity. And for the children who were sick, they missed so much. Masks were mandated, which is hard for young children. By the end of this week things should start to feel normal again. Sigh!
I’m so sorry, Jennie. I empathize with your school, especially since the start of the year is when those critical bonding moments and sense of family begin.
Thanks, Pete. This is our first no-mask week, which makes a world of difference. The process of taking masks off for outside play, rest time, and eating, and keeping them in separate bags is as hard as wearing masks. So, at last there’s a rainbow.🙂 Now those critical bonding moments can begin!! Tomorrow night is Parent Night.
