In less than an hour
nature appeared in so many ways.
First was the sky,
showing off dark and light
in full beauty.
Next, the sun decided to shine onto the pool,
making a beautiful pattern of light.
It shimmered for a long time.
We were immediately greeted by a Goldfinch
eating seeds from our tall flowers.
And finally, the new flowers under “Ted”
burst into bloom.
Ted was Hubby’s brother.
When Hubby last visited Ted in Florida,
with his sister,
they went to a consignment shop
and found this gigantic fish.
The fish cost peanuts,
the shipping was another story.
And so Ted the fish lives proudly
at the pool.
He is our constant and strongest reminder
of all the good times.
Nature is always there, showing off, hoping we notice.
Thank goodness I notice.

There is so much beauty around us! Currently, we have a flock of parakeets in our palm tree. They are eating the seeds, and spitting out the shells onto our patio. It is a huge mess which we have to clean up every day, but we love them so don’t complain. They are basically having a party in our palm tree!!

Thank you, John. That sun reflection in the pool doesn’t happen often, but it’s quite a show when it does. Nature is a forever, ongoing show. We just have to look and see. And yes, we’re all the better for it!
I hope we still teach children about clouds. those are beautiful, more so because I understand them.
Remember being in the grass looking up at the clouds and finding animal shapes? For older children, looking up to learn about the clouds is really wonderful. Hands on learning that sticks with you till you’re an adult, right?

Ted is a beautiful fish and lovely reminder of the good times. You cone flowers are lovely. My favorite is the Goldfinch. I think it’s an American Goldfinch Male. We don’t get to see those often although they’re here.

Ted sounds like he has the best seat in the house, except of course for your seats which apparently allow you to see both him and his flowery bounty. The goldfinch is a beauty, and I’m sure it enjoyed its visit. Living in the moment and paying attention, Jennie…the small things often have the biggest impact!

I love Ted, he reminds us of the things under the water we might not see or think of. I also love watching nature, and sitting out by the pool, or while drinking coffee in the sitting room watching out the window in the morning, always makes me smile and appreciate the world.
