These are great! Thanks.
Aren’t they? I’m glad you enjoyed them as much as I did. Fragglerock has been posting wonderful photos with quotations. This one on kids was terrific.
As you may know, I left a comment there, as I follow her blog. Excellent choice for a reblog, Jennie.
Best wishes, Pete.
I follow FR’s blog, too. I have so enjoyed her recent ones with quotations and photos. Of course this particular one on kids not only hit home, she nailed it! A ‘must’ for me to reblog. Best to you, Pete.
WordPress is being persnickety again and won’t let me “like” this, even though I like this.
Awww… I have been having the same problems. Thank you, and I need to talk to those Happiness Engineers.
It happens on some sites and not others. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
I know! It is random. Suddenly this week I couldn’t ‘like’ the post of my longest time blogger. Go figure!
Wow! Talk about some home run quotes! I think my favorite is from P.J. O’Rourke, “You know you’re children are growing up when they stop asking you where they came from and refuse to tell you where they’re going.”
Yes, these were home runs! I was struck by Erma Bombeck’s, “Don’t have more children than car windows.” They were all quite different, yet equally profound. I’m glad you enjoyed this as much as I did, Pete.
These are all extraordinary quotes and each so true. I popped over to read the rest. Roots and wings has always been a favorite but each one applies. I love the idea of keeping my children close but how can they soar if I pull at their wings.
I champion all your words, Marlene. The roots and wings is dear to my heart, too. When I was younger I used to take quotations lightly, as if they were wonderful words, but that was it. Over the past two decades I have come to appreciate the depth of those words in quotations. They are really lessons in life. The ones in this post were some of the best, and being directed to children was all the better.
This is great, Jennie!
Thank you, GP!
Oh so wonderful! ❤
Fragglerock had remarkable quotations with photos. I felt the same way as you!
Hugs & Happy Week, dear Jennie!
And to you, dear Bette! ❤️
A great set of quotes.
Some of the best!
I like the car windows one the best since it reminds me of endless squabbles over not wanting to sit in the middle seat. One time I got so aggravated I made one of the girls get in front and I say in the middle!
That one struck me. Like you, the memories and long car ride stories immediately came to mind, like masking taping on the back seat so kids can’t cross over. I have always loved Erma Bombeck.
I never thought of masking tape. Too late now!
It worked!
Sat
Dashing to fraggle’s to read the rest of this enchanting post!
You won’t be disappointed!
I wasn’t! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
