Things certainly do happen in threes. This week:
1) The mask mandate at school was lifted.

2) Gloria will now be allowed to go home with children for weekend visits. Her last visit was two years ago. This is her journal entry.

3) Every year since her girls were in my preschool class (they’re now in their 30’s), The Sticky Bun Lady delivered home made sticky buns and peanut butter balls to our house on Christmas Eve. Our delivery finally arrived!

About Jennie
I have been teaching preschool for over thirty-five years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about.
I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
Three good things!! How wonderful.
Yes!!!
Three great things, Jennie 💜
Yes! 💕
Hooray for Gloria, sticky buns, and seeing faces again. I just never thought I would see the day when you could not go into a bank unless you wore a mask.
Thank you, Don! I hadn’t thought about going into a bank with a mask. You’re right, I never thought I’s see the day either!
LOL
Too funny, never thought of that, but sooo true.
Wow, Jennie all those treats in one day what a special day it was 🙂 x
In one week, and that was a big treat! Best to you, Carol.
Normalcy feels pretty good about right now. One of my favorite aspects of what you do with Gloria is to send a journal along with her.
Normalcy is coming in baby steps, yet it feels like giant steps. Hooray! I am so excited that Gloria can once again have weekend visits. Her journal is a treasure. Thanks so much, Pete.
Let’s hear it for good things happening in threes! I’ll bet Gloria will be very get to get out of the classroom for a change of scene.
I think (know) she will be thrilled!
😀 I can’t get that image of her hanging in her green streamer hammock out of my mind!
I know!! 😅
My wife always says that everything comes in threes, good or bad.
I am sure they will be fighting over who takes Gloria home.
But meanwhile, I now want a sticky bun! (Not peanut butter anything though. 🙂 )
Best wishes, Pete.
Julie is right! Yes, it is going to be a big Gloria fight. I’m trying to figure out a way to prevent an onslaught. Those sticky buns were so good!! Best to you, Pete.
Lucky number three. Thanks for sharing. Man, those sticky buns sound good.
Thanks, John. Yes, they were delicious!
yay, yay, yay!!! and I do believe things happen in 3’s too!
They really do! 😀
Happy days!
Yes!
My favourite number is 3! 🙂 Also, I can’t see the pic of Gloria’s journal entry!
That was the best! I’m sorry about the journal entry. Maybe if you go to my blog instead of reader you will be able to see the photo??
Wow…lots to celebrate, Jennie!
Indeed!
I believe in the 3 thing, too, especially if it involves ‘sticky buns’. I’m heading to Wegmans and will make a beeline for pastries. Yours look delicious.
Thanks, Steve. They were delicious!
That was the best Three Things I’ve read about in a long time!! 😀😀
Hooray! Thank you, Deborah. 😀
You’re welcome, Jennie! 😀
A trifecta of tremendous!! Yay, Jennie! 💛♥️👏🏻
😀
While those 3s are cool, I’m impressed with the sticky bun lady in that she saw an open door and continues her tradition way past its traditional time frame. Oh and I’m sure those sticky buns were fresh & gooey!
🙂
She is the best! After all these years, she is there, and those sticky buns are sooo good!
So wonderful . Hip hip hurrah !!!×3
😀
All wonderful moves!
Lucky me!
Lucky students 😊
😊
what a wonderful week! I haven’t had a sticky bun in years, but now you make me want to have one! By the way, the image of Gloria and her journal do not show up for me…
You’re the second person who hasn’t been able to see the image. Maybe if you go to the post and not reader you can see it? Those sticky buns only come once a year! 😀
I tried to view it both ways, through the Reader and your web site. very strange!
I guess that makes the sticky buns even more special!
I don’t know why that happened, and I tried to send you that photo in this comment… Sigh!
Oh well; I’ll just imagine what it was 🙂
I think I will repost the photo later today, as you were not the lone ranger. When I do, let me know if it comes through.
Three great things! I like how you think, and appreciate, the good things in life. I haven’t had a sticky bun in years, come to think of it. Suddenly I NEED one.
Thanks so much, Ally. I like how you think, too. Those stick buns only come once a year, and they are so good!
Yeah, Jennie. A sense of normalcy returns. 🙂 Great three things!
Yes, it does!
