Hubby: “Jennie, did Gloria have Christmas with an Aqua Roomer?”
Me: “No, she did not.”
Long pause…
Hubby: “And you didn’t bring her home to have Christmas with us?”
He was right. I felt terrible. Gloria was alone at school.
Me: “I have to go in to school today. I’ll bring Gloria home. She can spend New Year’s Eve with us.”
I brought her home. She was so happy! I had to go to the store, so Hubby was in charge. When I got home, this is what I saw:
They were watching football together.
Tonight I will read to Gloria. She always wants Goodnight Moon, because that’s what she hears everyday at school. It makes her feel good.
Tomorrow Gloria will pick what she wants to wear for New Year’s Eve. She has tried on many costumes, and I think this is her favorite.

“Gloria, you look beautiful! New Year’s Eve will be fun. The new year will, too. You know Zeb? Faith’s zebra? flannelwithfaith.com
Guess what? Zeb is lonely. He heard you were lonely, too. Zeb is coming here to visit you, all the way from Missouri. He’s so excited! I know the two of you will get along and have a grand time together.”
Jennie

Thats such a lovely post… How did poor Gloria get let all alone at school…Oh my goodness, well done your hubby and you remembering her in time for the new year. I bet she is so happy staying with you and watching football with hubby . The video of you reading the story is simply the best 💜💜💜
Thanks so much, Willow. Gloria alone…very sad, and hats off to hubby. She is happy and ready to celebrate the new year. I’m glad you liked the video. Gloria loves that book. 💕
Yes full marks to hubby….and Happy New Year to you both 💜❤️

I think she will, Liz. Yes, hubby saved the day when I dropped the ball.
☺️
Cheers to Gloria not being alone, (so thanks for feeling guilty). For me, this post is great as a starter to my week and an ending of the year. Thank you! Wishing you and yours all the best for 2025!
I’m so glad Gloria could end the old year and start the new year for you. Big smiles here! Happy New Year, Frank.
Gloria looks great, Jennie. I’m so glad you brought her home.
Thanks, Dan. I’m glad, too. Happy New Year.
yay! I’m sure gloria could not be happier and the kids will love knowing how she spent the holiday
They will, and she is very happy. Best to you, Beth!
How could you let Gloria spend a holiday alone, Jennie! Sure glad your hubby asked about her.
You are so right, Don. Thank goodness for hubby! She is a happy camper here.
Happy New Year!
Oh, so sweet. Happy New Year, Gloria.
Thank you, Anneli!
Genuine family moments – hubby with Gloria watching (in the best sleepyland way) football and then you reading Gloria a bedtime story. Perhaps this is her first New Year’s Eve with you, her forever family? May 2025 birth a whole generation of Glorias – ready to work their love in quiet, profound ways. I like to think you and I are already a part of it as an ‘older’ generation with Gloria leading the way… 🙂
Yes, genuine! When Gloria is here, which isn’t often, she is family – big time. Bless hubby for picking up the ball (including the football). Here’s to 2025, with both of us and Gloria leading the way as part of an older generation. Kindness and wisdom are on the agenda.😍
Yep! 🙂
I’m glad Gloria is spending New Year’s with you. Happy New Year to you, Hubby, and Gloria.
I’m so glad, too! Tonight Hubby plans to introduce Gloria to women’s hockey. Happy New Year, John.
Sounds fun. Have the camera handy. 😁
I did not take pics. Bummer.
While I like all the photos, my favorite has to be the one of Gloria and Steve. I like to watch my share of football too. Happy New Year, Jennie!
It’s my favorite, too. As I type this, Steve is trying to teach Gloria about women’s hockey while they watch the Boston game. I was in the kitchen and heard him say, “Gloria, they’re as pretty as you are.” He’s explaining ice skates to her right now. Isn’t that wonderful? Happy New Year, Pete.
❤️ What a good guy!
😍
I’m so glad your husband remembered Gloria. Happy New Year to Gloria and your family, Jennie.
I am so glad he did! Gloria is having a wonderful visit. Happy New Year, Carla.
So cute and such a sweet post. Good you brought her home and so nice she is sitting with your husband. Happy New Year Jennie 😊🎈💓
Thank you, Kamal! Happy New Year to you!
You are always welcome dear Jennie ❣️🙏❣️

Oh, Jennie! I’m so happy that Gloria is spending New Year’s Eve with all of you! Look at your hubby and Gloria–and your storytime? So precious!! My heart is so happy! Zeb is so excited about his trip (he told me :-). Finn and I will miss him, but oh, the adventures that await! The world needs more Jennie and Gloria! Happy New Year to you 3! ❣️🦓🥰🩷🩷
Awww…💕 🎉 😍

❤️
She picked a great outfit. I hope she didn’t keep you up late celebrating. But, then, it’s only once a year. 😉
She did pick a great one. She kept Steve up late to see the ball drop. Thank goodness that only happens once a year. 🙂
❤️❤️
Happy New Year
Thank you.
Gloria’s happiness to be around her family (of sorts) makes us all realize how important it is to be around people at all times and especially the holiday. She looks very very happy. Wishing you a wonderful 2025.
Well said, Pam. Exactly! Best to you.
So glad to hear that Gloria had a wonderful New Year celebration – she certainly looked amazing. Wishing you a happy, successful 2025, Jennie:)).
