Finding a Rainbow

You just never know when or where you might find a rainbow.

“Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder.”
-E.B. White-

Bev Bos was THE best when it comes to children, especially music.
I still sing this song to children.
Every child loves a rainbow.
Every child needs to look for a rainbow,
even grown-up children.

Jennie

About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty-five years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

Hey, I’ve got one… ‘and the teacher inside my iPhone is as awesome as awesome can be’!!! What a great thought to read and song to hear before calling it a day. The song just reminds us that it is ‘a wonderful world’.

    • Jennie says:

Steve, you’re the best! Now I’m singing that song in my head with your verse. Despite what we hear on the news, it’s a wonderful world. 😍

      • srbottch says:

Jennie, when I was working my sales job, I spent lots of time in the car, listening to music. I heard that Louie Armstrong song, ‘Wonderful World’, and learned the lyrics. Every now and then, I ‘sing’ it. The poem reminded me of the song. 😁

      • Jennie says:

You may not know this, but in my will that’s the song I want played at my funeral…because it is so wonderful. I love that song. I’m glad my poem reminded you of the song. Really! The other song at my funeral? Bells of Peace by Jack Hartman.

      • srbottch says:

Wow, that’s going to be some service. And thank you for sharing. May I suggest that you consider, ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It…’, because you always have a happy outlook and make others around you the same. I’ve had ‘Wonderful World’ stuck in my head all day.

      • Jennie says:

The kids at school sometimes find a rainbow, and it’s always exciting. Like you, I love when that happens. The song is an oldie but goodie.
