She was trick-or-treating for the very first time.
And she came here.
Mom and Dad are looking on.
Hubby is in the doorway.
Everyone is smiling.
This is precious. Never forget the little things,
because they are really the big things.

Such a sweet pic!! Last night was also Charlotte’s first experience with Halloween (the year before was covid paranoia, the year before that she broke her foot ON Halloween and the year before that she was too young for us to take her out) so it was so heartwarming to see her experience it for the first time. It actually brought me back to memories of when I went out with my sisters on Halloween for trick-o-treating. These life moments… they come full circle! 🙂
Poor Charlotte, one event after another to nix Halloween. Thank goodness she could experience the fun and excitement this year. Isn’t it wonderful when an event with your child triggers the same event when you were a child? I loved when that happened!
May I make a suggestion, something I wish I had done? When those moments happen, write them down!! Stories of Charlotte and you, when you were both trick-or-treating will be a treasure for Charlotte and her children down the road.
Here’s the thing, you think you’ll remember to write this later on… but you won’t, not in the same way that it happened at the moment.
Yes, life moments are full circle.
The reason I’ve kept up with my blog is because I want her to one day know who I am outside of being her mother ❤️ I’m writing and documenting as much as I can and my interpretation of motherhood through my eyes.
That is wonderful, Jen!!! Keep writing and leave your legacy to Charlotte. 💕
