About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty-five years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

I know John is also a blogger, but not sure about Nancy. I hope you enjoy them, Jennie.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    • Jennie says:

Thank you, Pete. John’s blog is terrific. Blogger Darlene Foster highly recommended Nancy’s book (I was not familiar with Nancy), and Darlene’s writing is part of the book.

I know you’ll like My Grl, I read it a while back. I’m sure the other will be good as well. I look forward to you doing two reviews!

  9. Darlene says:

You will enjoy John’s book as he us a great writer. I hope you enjoy the real life snippets in Life Lessons. Don’t you just love getting books in the mail. Xo

    • Jennie says:

I know I will! I’m excited about both books. Getting books in the mail is thrilling. Reading a hard copy vs a tablet is the best! Thank you, Darlene.

  10. What a treat! Enjoy your summer reading!

  11. I KNOW this made your day brighter!

  12. I love to see people supporting authors.

  13. Read and enjoyed My Grl. Haven’t read Life Lessons but that sure is a great title.

  14. I’m so excited for you. I’m not allowing myself to buy anymore books. I have hundreds waiting to be read and 6 boxes looking for a new home. It’s a sad day here. Nothing better in the world than a new book. I’m going to check if John’s book is on Kindle. I can make the print big enough there and it won’t add to the weight on the floors. Let me know how you like them. Someone mentioned on one of my comments that giving away our books is like giving away a family pet. Painful indeed.

    • Jennie says:

Yes, it is definitely on Kindle. That was Amazon’s first choice (and very inexpensive.) I know it will be good because I have been reading John’s Wednesday serials for a long time. I still have books waiting to be read, too! Way too many. And yet, I buy new ones, but not often. You’re right, nothing is better in the world than a new book. And I remember that comment about giving away books. It really is akin to a family pet. I have boxes and boxes to give away, but I just can’t. My ‘solution’ has been to cover the box with a table runner or large placemat so it looks…well, better.

      • I have a half dozen or more on the floor and after I put them in there, it’s up to her to get them out of the house and donated somewhere. Saturday is her day to get that done while I have my first time ever house cleaning help here. This should be interesting. 🙂 I’ll check for John’s book. I used to have time to read some of his posts. I’m retired for goodness sake! Where does all the time go?

      • Jennie says:

I hope she did that today. Also, I have just hired a crew to clean my house once a month. I just can’t do it all anymore, and this was the best thing I have done. It feels like the weight of the world has been lifted. Yes, where does the time go?

      • My house felt so much lighter today after that young woman came with her magic. Best money I ever spent. 🙂

      • Jennie says:

I feel exactly the same way! We have had two cleanings, once a month, and I can keep up with the in-between. Magic! That’s the word. Best money we ever spent.

  15. Dan Antion says:

I think you will enjoy those, Jennie!
