I hope it all passed you by and left you safe.
Fierce winds, branches down, and no internet. Otherwise all is well. 😀
Oh no! The internet going down would be awful.
It is! Still down. Have to use the phone. ☹️
I saw the damage on TV. It looks awful, with a lot of trees down.
It was a beauty! I love watching a storm, yet this one was quite different with the winds coming after the rains.
Glad you are safe.
🙂
Wow
It was wild!
Glad you are okay
Thanks!
Beth said it all. Wow!! It’s beautiful and scary at the same time. Stay safe.
It really was. I can’t remember such a show as this one. No damage, fortunately.
Yikes! It certainly was. I hope you’re safe and your power is on.
Power is on but no cable. No big damage, just branches and knocked down outdoor stuff. It was wild!
Hope you’re safe.
All is well after that wild night!
Looks so beautiful.
Beautiful and fierce. I stayed on the porch to enjoy the wild ‘ride’.
Similar here as well Jennie – unseasonal wind – very autumnal!
Yes!
Brooding sky!
Very much so. What a fierce and windy night!
😱😱😱
Yes!
“When suddenly . . . “
Yes!
Horsefeathers! It really does look like a dark and stormy night, Jennie. I’ve been avoiding the news, so I don’t know what you might be expecting related to the hurricane. I hope all is well this morning. Hugs on the wing!
The dark and stormy night was the tropical storm coming through. It was beautiful, fierce, windy, and wild. No big damage, just no internet today. Gotta use the phone.
I’m glad you’re safely on the other side (and not in Oz).
Haha!
It definitely looked like the storm in the movie, with wind to match.
Looking ominous, Jeanne.
Very much so!! More wind than we’ve ever had. I rode it out on the porch. Fierce, wild beauty, if there is such a thing.
I could see you and the porch in Kansas.
Yup!
Hahaha.
Well you survived, and have a great photo out of it. That would be a perfect book cover, Jennie!
Best wishes, Pete.
Oooo, it would be a perfect book cover! Speaking of surviving, how is your heat wave, and more importantly your bites and itching? If you posted updates the last day or two I will catch up shortly. Best to you, Pete.
Keeping the itching down with tablets, and very hot weather due tomorrow. 35C!
That’s 95 degrees! Is it humid? I hope not.
Yes, quite humid. Unfortunately.
Oh, no!
We have fans, so may survive. 🙂
My fans follow me everywhere. They’re my best friends this summer. I understand!
Glad to read that you’re safe!
Thank you, Becky. It was like the Wild West of wind.
Oh, my!
Was there lightning and thunder too? I like those, but I seldom experience them so…
I hope you pasted the night without any storm damage or loss of sleep. 😀
This storm was quite different. No, there was no lightening or thunder (which I love to watch out on my porch). It started with light rain in the morning and heavy rain in the afternoon. The rain stopped and the winds began. By the time I took the photo the winds were ramping up, big time. I stayed on the porch and watched. What a scary, thrilling, exciting event- and quite different from a thunderstorm. I wonder if this is somewhat similar to what people experience before a tornado.
I have no idea as I have never experienced a tornado, just a warning once while in KY while having dinner in a Chinese restaurant. All the diners and staff went down to the cellar. Thankfully my cousin was with me and experienced in waiting out the warning. Which kept my 21 year old self calm. 😄
Like you, I haven’t experienced a tornado. This was as close as I hope to come.
