The sky is always changing. Look away for a minute and there is a new canvas of beauty. School ended yesterday, and now I have more time to delight in the constant beauty that Mother Nature provides, from my porch and backyard. Yes, E.B. White, I am always on the lookout for the presence of wonder.

About Jennie
I have been teaching preschool for over thirty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about.
I am highlighted in the the new edition of Jim Trelease's bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at both the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, and the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital.
Keeps you young too.
Definitely!
It does!
Life is a wonder
It really is, Beth.
Relax and unwind and enjoy your nature show at home. I’m glad you have a break now. You’ve worked very hard and deserve a rest.
Thank you, Anneli!
Yes, E.B. White, I am always on the lookout for the presence of wonder.
Me too.
You are, Cindy. You find real beauties!
If you look for wonder you will always find it! That’s a line from one of my poems!
Of course! You write just what you see and feel, Opher. 🙂
😍
😍
Looking up is something we should all do more often. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Definitely!
I have spent a lifetime searching for wonder, and managed quite often to find it.
My life has been blessed several times, just by keeping my eyes (and soul) open…
Well said, Jaye!
Reblogged this on anita dawes and jaye marie.

Thank you, Darlene. And, I will! 🙂
Your yard is so peaceful looking! And I love your yellow house. 😉 Mine is yellow now too. Painted it myself. I was out in back watering this morning listening to the birds and writing my morning pages. It is a great way to start your summer, Jennie. Enjoy every minute.
Yellow is a feel good color. I’m glad your house is yellow, too. It’s so nice to be outside and just ‘be’. Thank you, Marlene. I am unwinding, catching up on reading today, and plan to balance relaxing and house projects and writing over the summer. Best to you!
More degrees of wonder than a thermometer, Jennie.
I like your words, Jacqui!
We are surrounded by wondrous things, Jennie – keep looking.
Yes we are! Thank goodness we keep looking. 🙂
We should always keep searching for wonder! Thank you, Jennie.

Indeed it is, and I will! Thank you, Debby.
Beauty surrounds us all. All we have to do is look and find it.. Thank you for sharing your backyard and piece of sky Jennie.. Enjoy your relaxing time 🙂 May the Sun keep shining on you.. 🙂 ❤
Exactly! We only need to look. Thank you, Sue! 😍
Every moment is truly a miracle to behold if we just care to look. This is such a special thing to share with the children – an appreciation for wonder. If I were teaching now, my children and I would go out with the aides and sit and enjoy the early morning air and beauty and share what we saw or felt as we watched. We would have this time with milk and perhaps fruit or cookies (health ones) since some children don’t get breakfast out here in Southern California. I think this could be another of those times the children would come to remember forever. Thank you for always appreciating the wonder of this world.
I echo your words, Anne!
Happy holidays Jennie! Well deserved, even it follows a time the pupils are without the chance learning from you. Michael
Thank you so much, Michael. Your words are so kind and greatly appreciated. 🙂
🙂 Well deserved Jennie! You are doing so much with such a love for your work. Best wishes, Michael
