Holiday Delight – One Child

A holiday Open House tonight, hosted by my fellow teacher.

In walked one of my favorite students, along with her parents.

And the world stopped.

All the people seemed to disappear so we could play.

And we did.

Happy New Year!

About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I am highlighted in the the new edition of Jim Trelease's bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at both the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, and the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital.

Thank you for your kind words, Sue. Joy and inspiration are my two favorite words, my mantra, because if I can bring that to children in my classroom and to readers on my blog, I have done a good thing. BUT, first of all and most importantly, I need to feel joy and inspiration to pass that along. And I get that directly from the children. That is the spark for imagination!!! Win-win, full circle. Pretty wonderful. πŸ™‚
