About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

That’s a great quote from Mr Sagan. I read some of his books too, but I found his accent very annoying, on his TV series. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  5. That’s a wonderful and very true quote! I get lost in books all the time.

Excellent! I’m going to print this and give it to ‘one of my kids’, a high schooler who reads a couple of books every weekend. Thanks for posting.

  7. I say, “Amen Carl.”

I didn’t think I could like books any more than I already did – but Carl Sagan improved it even more!

  15. Two thumbs up. I got to meet Carl Sagan once. He was impressive, but had this shy, aw shucks little boy humility about him. To bad I only got to talk with him for maybe three or four minutes.
