laughing and wearing a silly hat.
Tiny treasures carefully and lovingly arranged,
and a note that reads:
“Dear Milly, I hope you are having a good time
in heaven.”

I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

My son was small when his favorite race car driver, Dale Earnhardt, was killed in a crash. He made a little memorial like this in his play room. It broke my heart.

What positive relationships and happiness for so many…I just want to make a web of it! I’m a retired teacher who made Peace books and the like with my classes over the years, and now in later years I am also a quilter. This gave me one of those crazy, manic moments when I want to write a thematic unit with your tributes to Millie as the core text. Thank you for these wonderful posts and for being the teacher you are.
