About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

Beautiful quote. I believe I have said it before but I need to repeat it. You are a wonderful teacher and your children are so lucky to have you in their lives. I wish you could have been my teacher!✨

I hope that saying can apply to adulthood, also. I am waiting for a door to open.

Thank you for this thought-provoking and reassuring quotation, Jennie. Glad to read that a door opened in your life as you approached 50 years of age! I am now going to meditate on when these moments of doors opening may have transpired in my childhood…

I’m glad you enjoyed this, Will. I have to think about my childhood, too, as I believe there were probably those moments. They may have been small, and perhaps I just didn’t ‘see’. 🙂

  16. A beautiful quote, Jennie. It leaves me all goose-bumply. I’m trying to decide when that “one moment” was.
I wasn’t familiar with the book, but now that I’ve googled it, I’m quite intrigued. Here’s to the open door. Hugs!

Thanks, Teagan. I recall open doors as an a adult, and I had to think of those when I was a child. They were there. A good exercise, isn’t it? I need to read the book again. Hugs to you, 😍
