My Grandmother – Thank You, Sally

About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

I enjoyed your tribute to your grandmother. What a different life she would have lived from what we know today. Did you ever ask her about how she came to enjoy Picasso’s art?

HURRAH for this loving ripple effect through time and space: “Art had an influence on Nan, Nan had an influence on me, and now I have an influence on children.”

I enjoyed your story about your grandmother and how she influenced you. We owe so much to those who came before us and helped to shape us into who we are today! ❤️

Excellent,, Jennie. You are carrying on that same influence to new generations. Nan would be proud.

  5. You were so lucky to have a grandmother like Nan. You’ve had some good influences in your life, Jennie, but the best part is that you’ve used them for good – to influence many young lives in a positive way.
