When school ends. most children enjoy school’s Summer Camp.
Many teachers become Camp Counselors.
I have summers off… which is hard for children.
They miss me.
Juliana popped over to my house unexpectedly.
She missed me and wanted to see me.
She had a note for me.

Jennie, I miss you so very much.
I hope you come back to school soon!
Love, Juliana
To her surprise, Gloria was there!

We had a grand visit.

About Jennie
I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about.
I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
Many children love summer holidays but I missed school and especially missed my teachers. That was so cool that she stopped in for a visit. And that Gloria was there.
Oh how sweet, Jennie!
It was! Best to you, Ritu. I start back to school next week. How about you?
We start back on 1st Sept xx
😀
What a way to start my day. Thank you for sharing, Jennie! 💕
So glad you enjoyed this, Vicki!
I did, I did! 🥰
❤️
That’s so lovely!
Thank you!
Good grief, it does not get any better than that as a teacher.
True!! Thanks, Jacqui.
That’s wonderful 🥰
Thank you, Esther.
Thank you for sharing Juliana’s visit with us!
My pleasure, Liz.
I bet that just made her day!
Exactly!
A double bonus for Julianna. (Not to mention you)—her beloved teacher and an old friend. I can imagine the joy on Julianna’s face when she saw Gloria.
Schools started here this week. Are you back in session this week or next?
Her face lit up! It was really wonderful for all of us. Teachers head back to school next week, and children the following week. I think starting school mid-August is terrible, but you probably finish the school year earlier.
How lovely 🌹🌹🌹
Thank you, Willow. 💕
A good teacher is a great blessing. My second grade teacher was one of the best teachers I ever had, and I was sad all summer knowing that I would have to have a different teacher for third grade. But on the first day of third grade, I was overjoyed to find that my favorite teacher had been switched from second to third, so I got to have her for another year.
What a great story, and lucky you! We remember our good teachers, and I always feel it’s so important to connect with children.
I’m glad for both of you that she stopped to visit and happy for her that Gloria was there.
I feel the same way!
On a list of special moments to treasure later, that moment ranks in the top ten, Jennie.
Best wishes, Pete.
I think it does! Best to you, Pete.
oh, that is so sweet for all of you!!!! a wonderful surprise -))
Yes!!! Best to you, Beth.
How lovely to have such a nice visitor, Jennie. I’m glad you take the summers off.
It was very lovely, Robbie. I need the summer to rest, and to ramp up for the new year.
Makes sense to me. 💜🌈
