Our grown children live far away.
One is on the east coast and one is on the west coast.
Between them we have five wonderful grandchildren.
Whenever they visit, it is special.
Here I am with the west coast gang.

Ice cream was the highlight.
Here in New England we have farms in beautiful rolling hills,
that make their own ice cream,
the real deal.

Even the trash cans are cows.
Bottom line – family first.

About Jennie
I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about.
I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
how lucky you can gather with the real ice cream, and thank the cows. glad you can hang with the west coasters !
Thanks, Beth!
What a wonderful reunion you had, Jennie! Beautiful people all over. Rurality always pays out for best food and sweeties. Best wishes, Michael
Yes, it does! It was wonderful. Thanks, Michael.
❤
Family is everything! Nothing better than farm fresh ice cream on a hot day. Or any day for that matter.
Hear, hear!
What a great last line, dear Jennie! 💕🥰💕
Thanks, Vicki!
Love the pics! And now I want ice cream…for breakfast! 😜❤️😜
😀
What a lovely family! So glad you have had a chance to see them. We’ve always been so blessed that our grandchildren have been relatively close as they’ve been growing up. And the ice cream looks delicious.
Thank you, Sarah. I do wish they were closer. It was a wonderful visit, and the ice cream was delicious!
Glad it was so wonderful – the trouble with such visits is they always whisk by so very quickly!!
Exactly!
Ice cream and family on a lovely summer day – perfect.
Yes!
Not great when family is so far away, glad you had a great reunion!
It must be such a delight for you when they can visit from so far away. Living in Britain, it is hard for us to grasp such distances. We still have family around London, which is only 140 miles away from Beetley. But even seeing them seems far too difficult at times.
Best wishes, Pete.
It is a delight! Americans can barely grasp the vast distance across the country. Regardless of where family lives, seeing them is always wonderful. Best to you, Pete.
Amen, Jennie
😀
I know exactly what you mean.
Thanks, Jacqui. I know you do.
Love this Jennie.
Thanks, Flower.

I hope you had a wonderful visit with your family—how great to treat them to real ice cream—the best kind.
It was a wonderful visit, Pete. The farm with the ice cream is at the top of a hill, so the view is as wonderful as the real ice cream.
You’re very lucky, Jennie.

How wonderful to be able to spend time with your family over the summer. I’m so blessed that my grandchildren live so close to me. That ice cream looked so yummy. I agree, family time is the best time.
I’m always envious of my friends who have their families close by. Perhaps when my family visits, it’s all the more special, especially with ice cream!
Nothing beats family time and ice cream makes it even sweeter 🙌🏼
