Gloria has been away every weekend. Her adventures have been numerous, and what she brings to children cannot be measured. I will post her journal excerpts after Thanksgiving. In the meantime, I have to share one of my favorite photos:

She went to a college football game and had her own seat at the stadium. The child who took her is in awe. The football player clearly ‘gets it’. Understanding Gloria is perhaps the greatest education.

About Jennie
I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about.
I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
Brilliant! The look.on that child’s face is priceless!

Precious photo. Gloria needs some shoulder pads and a helmet. 😊
Thanks, Pete. I love the photo, and your comment.
What a wonderful adventure for all.
My goodness, it was! Another story: At pick-up this evening, the parent whose child had Gloria for the weekend told me they took Gloria to the Middle School’s play production. WELL, apparently parents and children in the audience saw Gloria, remembered, and rushed over to make a fuss. The parent said all he heard was shouts of “Gloria!” Isn’t that wonderful?
Wow! That must make your heart sing, Jennie.
Yes, it does! 💕
Roll over Elway!!
Yup!
That’s awesome!!
It is! 😀
So cute!
Thank you.
So amazing! Gloria is having a ball! 🙂 ❤
She is! Last weekend she went to the Middle School play performance (she had her own seat), and people in the audience saw and remembered her. The parent told me he kept hearing shouts of “Gloria” and never knew she had a history. Isn’t that wonderful?
You may have started a Gloria movement! Lol ❤
That would be something! 😀
❤
A fantastic picture, Jennie. Wishing you a happy Thanksgiving
Thank you, Robbie!

“Gridiron Gloria” brought a big smile to my face, Jennie. Then again, every time I see Gloria she elicits that reaction…just like with your students!
Thanks so much, Bruce! Best to you.
Absolutely love this, Jennie!
Thanks so much, Becky!
