A last winter sunset. Do you see the house looking at the barn, with wide eyes and an open mouth? Do you see what it’s saying?
Hey, barn! Do you see what I see? It’s a beauty of a sunset. It’s one of the last this winter. Let’s enjoy this together, okay?

You’re a barn. E.B. White loved barns. He said to always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder. Hey, I think this sunset sure looks like the presence of wonder, don’t you? Yes, let’s enjoy this together.

About Jennie
I have been teaching preschool for over thirty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about.
I am highlighted in the the new edition of Jim Trelease's bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at both the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, and the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital.
Yes, let’s enjoy this together
😍
I love old barns. Unfortunately, it seems like there are fewer each year. During my travels on the back roads of my sales territory, I spied a couple of round ones and even octagonal shaped, as well.
I love them, too! The top of this one is a vent, and it draws me in. I have seen round ones, and one octagonal shaped barn. What a treat, right?
Rounded structures circulate light and heat ~ all kinds of energies ~ at a fraction of what’s necessary for boxy ones. African natives were frequently perfectly horrified at the first Caucasian housing projects at which they assisted.
It makes perfect sense.
Yes let’s! I like this barn’s face and the sunset is lovely.
Thank you, Deborah!
You’re welcome, Jennie!
The presence of wonder indeed, Jennie.
Best wishes, Pete.
Yes, indeed! Thank you, Pete.
what a beautiful photo ❤
Thank you, Ritu!
A fun post, Jennie. 😁
Thanks, John. I liked the house talking to the barn about the sunset.
Me too.
🙂
I love winter sunsets. Obscured by leaves, they are beautiful sights.
I wrote ‘unobscured’ but WordPress corrected it 😦
I knew exactly what you meant. 🙂
🙂
I do, too. You’re more of a sunrise person, yet both have the same beauty.
A beautiful sunset, Jennie. And I love barns too! They’re a wonderland for kids and imagination. 🙂
Thank you, Diana. I feel the same way!
Absolutely!
😍
Beautiful but I am not sure winters done with us yet 💜
You are right on both counts!
Beauty should be shared in all its forms.
Yes, indeed!
Yes, Jennie! Yes! This is perfect! 💛💛
Thanks so much! 💕
It’s my pleasure, Jennie! Stay blessed, sweet lady! 💛

This definitely caught my attention. Beautiful image. Anita
Thank you, Anita.
Can you follow my blog. Let me know?
Love it!
I’m so glad!
There’s wonder everywhere if we are just open enough to see it!
Yes!
Yes yes!
The house and the barn are definitely on the same page when it comes to enjoying that scene. A sense of wonder should be universal for all…structures included.😀
Yes, indeed! Somehow I think structures have that same sense of wonder. 🙂
It is a fabulous picture, Jennie
I’m glad you liked it, Robbie.
