A Glow In The Darkness Is The Best Gift Of All

Thank you, Bruce, for posting one of Craig Wilson’s columns.Β  He was a weekly writer for USA Today, “The Final Word” – what a Christmas delight.Β  Yes, it is a reminder of how simple and magical the season can be.

About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

I like this a lot. In Spain, folks don’t do a lot of outside decorating but we were used to it coming from Canada. So my husband does a fabulous job lighting up our yard, even though no one else does. Everyone loves it! It makes you feel good, doesn’t it?

It really struck me, too. I was corrected that this post was not his final one, and made that adjustment. What a great, uplifting story! It’s really the simple things that can be most magical. Best to you, Pete. πŸŽ„

Hi Jennie, just wanted to let you know I am going to be posting this Christmas story on my new site in the next day or so. My old site is deleted, so at the present time there is no link to the story you originally reblogged. I am only mentioning this in the event you now want to add a link to your post here after I publish the new post. Hope I didn’t confuse you. I just feel bad when I deleted my prior site your kind reblog of my post vanished. Hope you are having a great holiday season so far!

Thanks, Bruce! No worries. I think it would be easier to just reblog the story again when you post it, right? All is well, and of course I’m in crazy mode with school and holiday stuff. Somehow that feels good.

Jennie, I’ll be thrilled if you just stop by and comment on the latest post whenever you next make the WordPress rounds. No need whatsoever to reblog. I am just happy you enjoyed it so much. I get “sped up” at this time of year too…so I make it a point to take deeper breaths and more frequent breaks. Everything gets done…and gets done better as a result. Enjoy the season!

Bruce, just so you know, I would never miss reading one of your posts, and I always comment (because they’re terrific.) I try to take those breaks and take deep breaths, too. Yes, it all gets done! Whew!
