About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty-five years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

  5. Excellent… How to think not what to think… So many children today are not being given opportunities to Question… Even back in my day at school I was always questioning teachers and always being put in my place… If I asked WHY?….. You soon began not to question. and that is what is happening today.. People are fearful to question and seek Answers.. And I agree we are Never Ever too old to learn… Many thanks for sharing. ❤

This is the best, “Do not train a child to learn by force or harshness; but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.” So true.
    Best wishes.

  8. This is exactly right. So many parents brainwash their children with their own views and opinions. A child has his/her own mind and must be able to think for themselves and make their own choices in life.

  9. Good guidance for parents and children 🙏
