About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

Children should always be given encouragement to be the best that they can be, whatever that is.
    Best wishes, Pete.

Now that is a great quote. The beauty of life is we get to choose our path, and as Robert Frost so eloquently puts it, sometimes that means taking the path less traveled.

I felt the same way. I often think of Frost this time of year, fall into winter. There’s a north/south road that borders the western edge of Massachusetts. Frost’s home is there and so is Norman Rockwell’s home. One of our favorite drives.

  4. Lovely choice to share, Jennie. Hugs on the wing.

Very true I always said to my children if you can look me in the eye and say I did my best then that is what matters it’s not where you come in the class its the fact you did your best and nobody can ask more… first or last as long as it’s your best…
