Fire and Ice

Ice storm on Christmas Day

It lasted…and lasted.

The only thing to do was start a fire.

Fire and Ice, Football, and Leftovers.
Life is Good.

About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

A fire on an icy day reminds us of our primeval past. (No ice here, just rain.)
    Best wishes, Pete.

It really does. We truly become helpless and at the mercy of Mother Nature. Anyone here would rather have a foot of snow than a half-inch of ice. But, it is so beautiful. Best to you, Pete.

  6. Glad you could cozy up to a warm fire and drink in the ambiance of the icestorm – hot beverage in hand too I hope!

The best thing about Boxing Day is the leftovers!! Stay warm. That fireplace looks very cosy.

  8. Our ice storm was yesterday. We awoke to a blanket of newly-fallen snow this morning.
