It’s the last hurrah. Fall is hanging on to its beautiful colors like a child playing in piles of leaves, or carefully making a bouquet of bright colored leaves. That’s what children do when they are struck by wonder. And, fall is wonder.
There’s something about wind
making red leaves rustle…
Children stop.
They listen.
They look.
They smile.
I do, too.

Up close the colors explode
when hit by sunlight.
It seems the leaves are every color,
as if they are a community of one.
This is color blind in a true sense.
“We are here!”, they say in a powerful way.
The sky looks blue, very blue. At day’s end
pink appears in the blue sky.

Perhaps it is a warm smile at the trees
and fall colors.
Perhaps it is a thank you.
That’s what children think,
and so do I.

Day’s end is a final burst of color,
much like fall’s colors.
One last hurrah.
Jennie

Such beauty, Jennie!

I’m so glad! Happy Sunday to you.
Hi Jennie,
Who can beat nature, eh!
ThanK you for the vivid photos and lovely poem.

Cheers.

Nature is the best! I’m glad you enjoyed this, Joy.
Even after all these years, the wonder of autumn never gets old.
I feel exactly the same way!
😀
Days of wonderful beauty, Jennie. Two fold for you. You get to see the beauty and the children.
I do, and I am ever grateful. Thank you, Dan.
So beautiful, Jennie.
Thank you, Norah.
The end of the day yesterday was particularly pink here in Arlington. Thanks for your lovely words and images and wisdom!
It was a lovely sky! I’m so glad you enjoyed this, Will!
Children recognize beauty without all the trappings of vanity.
Yes! Beautifully said, Pam.
Lovely words and photos dear friend. Enjoy these last bursts of color.
Thank you, Jolene. I am certainly enjoying these last days of beauty. 💕
So right, it’s all about the wonder and your pics have captured this beautifully
Thank you, Beth! I know you have those same moments of beauty and wonder with children on the playground. 🥰
Those colors are stunning!
Thank you.

Thank you to Jennie for this wonderful post!
Thank you so much, Charles!
a beautiful post, Jennie, both in words and images. I liked the videos as well, and I agree there is something magical about seeing the wind blow through the trees.
Thank you, Jim! I’m glad you liked the video. I keep watching it! I think it must be the magic. 🙂
🙂
You are lucky to have such a feast of colour, Jennie. It is mostly green here still, but I suspect it will turn next week. By coincidence, when I was out with Ollie earlier, I stood in the woods listening to the sound of the leaves caught on a brisk northerly wind.
Best wishes, Pete.
We are lucky to get beautiful colors in the fall. I hope you get some over the next few weeks, Pete. Ah, that sound of wind through leaves- I’m glad you enjoyed it as well.
Beautiful. I love how God gives us many ways to enjoy His creations.
Indeed He does! Thank you.
Leaf dancing! Love it!
Yes!! 😀
Hi Jennie! This beautiful. Thank you🙂
Thank you!
🙂
Lovely post Jennie!
Thank you, FR!
Those leaves and your thoughts/poems are beautiful!!
Many thanks, Deborah!
You’re welcome!
And I do too, Jennie. Sweet post.
I’m so glad, Don. Thank you!
You are right, Jennie, fall is wonderful and I love the colours. The only problem for me is I don’t like winter. South African houses are built for summer, not winter, and it can be uncomfortable cold inside.
I feel the same way. Perhaps my love of fall is like hanging on for dear life, knowing winter is not far away.
I’m not fond of winter so I can relate to that.
Excellent post, Jennie. The colors are beautiful. Thanks for that.
Thank you, John. New England has such beauty in the fall. Now, if only we could skip winter and go directly to spring…
That would ne lovely, Jennie.
😀
Jennie, this is such a lovely collage of photo, video, and verse. It sighs with the autumn breeze. Hugs on the wing.
Thanks so much, Teagan. Happy you enjoyed it. Hugs!
Beautiful
Thank you.
I loved reading this Jennie and I’m in the kids corner. All the seasons fill me with wonder but Autumn is the best of all. Loved the poetry of this. That looks like the wishing tree.
Thank you, Marlene. I feel the same way. It IS the wishing tree!!
The simple things in life bring such pleasure if we stop and take the time to appreciate them. Have a great week, Jennie!
You are exactly right, Pete. Best to you.
Beautiful photos and a lovely poem, Jennie. Autumn is magical and children see and know that. So do I. 🙂 🙂
Thank you, Diana. Yes, children do. I’m glad you do, too. 🥰
Beautiful insights and imagery!
Thank you.
Beautiful! 🍁I love autumn.🍂
Thank you, Dayne. I do, too!
Beeautiful ❤
Thank you, Debby. 🥰
Children always see in thier teachers a sort of second parents . Sometimes even more than that. They dare not disobey the instructions of their teachers. What teachers tell remain lifelong in their mind . Teachers reflect in their children when they are grown up . Two inherentance percolate deep into the mind a child — one of parents and second of teachers . Thanks .
Well said.
Thanks .
I miss the autumn colours …Thank you for letting me live them virtually through your eyes, Jennie 🙂 x
My pleasure, Carol. 🙂
As so aren’t they full of life, fresh and ready to blossom?!!
Appreciating the little things… ❤️🙏
Yes! 🥰
This was such a beautiful post. I love going back psychologically sometimes and just allowing myself to be in the moment, appreciating colours, textures, feelings etc like a child. Not sure it’s meditation exactly but either way it is blissful and invigorating!
Yes, it is. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing
You are welcome.
Love the video showing the fall leaves
Thank you.
It’s wonderful!!
Thank you!
seems like these leafs are smilling
I think so.
Wonderful words. You like to spend time in nature, me too.
What lovely images of the moving leaves…
Thank you.
Great post ❤️
Thank you.
This is amazing! My favorite season is fall, and I loved the trees and sky. I’m in love with nature, and I agree we should look at things with childlike wonder.
Thank you. I think so, too.
