About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I am highlighted in the the new edition of Jim Trelease's bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at both the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, and the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital.

Congratulations are definitely in order for the feat of reaching this blogging milestone! Quite a remarkable achievement that is the result of approximately 7&1/2 years of your time invested in writing this delightfully entertaining marvelous blog. I note that at present there are 5,910 followers and might I add that is no small achievement in and of itself! I have not read the entire 1000 posts but have often, over the past 4+ years, perused the archives and categories with and without Benjamin. Being that I am not part of Blogdom’s community of writers I consider myself a generic follower…but, nonetheless, a grateful recipient of your gifts! Thank-YOU!

Ellen, there is no Blogdom community. It is readers like you, and you are THE reader and follower. As a writer, I am ever grateful for your lovely and thoughtful comments. If I have made you smile or left you with lingering thoughts…well, that’s as good as it gets. So, my thanks go to YOU!

(I was prompted to check how many blog posts I have published since the summer of 2012. I guessed it might be a lot, but was still surprised to find it is 4,476! )
    Best wishes, Pete.
