There he was, on the stairs,
so very tiny.
He wasn’t afraid.
I reached out my fingers,
And he climbed right on.
His black eyes have a gold circle.
His chin line is bright yellow.
He’s really beautiful.
I told him so, and he smiled.
He dove in and showed me some of his fancy moves.
I need to name this little guy.
This was his third visit.
Better yet, I’ll let the children name him.

My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

WhenI had a pool I enjoyed the frog visits. I was always concerned about the chlorine but I guess it was not harmful since they seemed to do okay.😊
I was concerned about the chlorine, too. But no, the frog doesn’t seem to be bothered. Hey, pool water vs pond water? Seems like a no brainer to me. 🙂

So sweet. We get a lot of frog visitors in our pool too. Unfortunately it’s a constant race to rescue them before the dog does. They usually don’t fair so well when she scoops them out 🙁

How I enjoyed this little moment with you! It took me back to my childhood when I used to watch my brother spending delicate hours with the frogs that visited our pool.

Although we have no pool or pond, we do get our share of frogs of all sizes. Julie is very scared of them, for some reason. I usually pick them up and put them out of harm’s way.

I’d love a frog to visit us. We haven’t seen any around here for a few years. It’s sad.

I wonder what changed that made the frogs leave. We have lots of trees, streams, ponds, and open space. They like it. But a pool is a different thing, not exactly ‘nature’. I hope they pick a name.
Hopefully, they’re still here – just hidden. 🙂 I look forward to hearing what name the children choose.

Awww! We have a lot of little bitty frog hopping all over the neighborhood right now, and late last night when I got home from a night shoot there was a medium-sized toad right in front of my garage door showing me where I should pull in no doubt! He hopped away as soon as I hit the garage door opener and was nowhere to be seen after I parked. 😀
I am looking forward to learning what the children name it.
