About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I am highlighted in the the new edition of Jim Trelease's bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at both the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, and the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital.

We don’t have a Flag Day, Jennie. Another patriotic celebration that England doesn’t share with America.
    Best wishes, Pete.

    Something good to believe in.

  6. Happy Flag Day, Jennie! I’ll keep it in mind for the next year. When I hoist the American flag here, they think the war is not over yet. 😉 Have a nice week! Michael

Thank you, Michael. That is so interesting. Over here, there are Americans who still take sides in our long-ago Civil War. It doesn’t go away.

  7. I’m all for patriotism.

  8. Happy Flag Day to you and the Aqua Roomers, Jennie!

  9. Beautiful words… My flag was out, proudly
