About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over forty years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

Snow in April – it happens – it’s happening here – but you bring out the beauty. Thanks!

It’s so mad, the weather, right now!

Yes, Jennie, it’s pretty, it’s New England. BUT IT’S MID APRIL and 37 DEGREES! But that’s just me. You, the eternal optimist, perfectly fit Monty Python’s, ‘Always Look On The Bright Side of Life’…(I hope this works)

It’s like Winter is giving Spring one last hug before moving on.

  5. Pretty, but awful. Awful pretty. Pretty awful. Okay, it looks pretty, but the snow should go away now. Yes, look on the sunny side of life.

  6. Wow, Jennie. This looks like March in Texas. 😁

Well I guess that settled the question of sitting out on the deck for today!

  9. The weather gets confused sometimes – rather like the rest of us.

It also snowed here, but fortunately failed to settle. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  13. A lovely poem and picture, Jennie.

  14. A wonderful image, with a great poem. But honestly, will the flowers also have loved the snow? 😉 Thank you, Jennie!
