Over a foot of snow fell yesterday.
It was a winter wonderland.
Since we are alone for Christmas,
it will be a treat to have a white one.
Light and fluffy.
Windy and cold.
It found it’s way into everywhere.
The clean-up began.
I think our snowman likes being in the snow, too.
May your days be merry and bright,
and may all your Christmases be white.

We’re having very cold and windy days and the birds just go crazy over the feeders, especially when I put out new suet and refill the feeders. I had a chickadee come to eat at a newly filled feeder just inches from my face. He couldn’t wait until I left.

On a Gloria side note…weāre not allowed to have anything stuffed or with fabric in the classroom this year. Thank you, COVID. We have to be careful with Gloria, so the spontaneous love has to be pulled back . I hate that. Itās not natural for the children. Plus, Gloria has always gone home for weekends with children.
And then Connor (the child who adores Gloria) begged to take Gloria home for Christmas. I caved. I might be in trouble, but I donāt care. I did the right thing. This will mean the world to Connor, and to Gloria. ā¤ļø

Thanks, Becky. Where did you live? Hubby and I split the snow blowing. By February… the joy of snow has lost itās luster. But now, it is delightful. š
Most recently, in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, so LOTS of snow. One year, we had so much that the snow blower couldn’t throw it any higher. The walkway from the driveway to the back door felt almost like a tunnel. We had to hire someone with a truck to haul part of it away:)
I remember the year the snow was higher than the snowblower. We also had to get a roof rake. Michigan gets lots of snow!

we got snow here too, not as much as MA, but more than our normal snowfall. We have snow in the forecast for Christmas eve and Christmas morning. I love waking up to new snow on Christmas day and since we won’t be traveling I’ll enjoy it even more. Hope you enjoy the wonder of your new fallen snow and the holiday season

The snow is lovely, and I agree–it’s at least some consolation for spending the holidays alone. We’re working construction in Tahoe next week, and I’m looking forward to seeing the snow-capped vistas, both large and small (and besides, the superintendent has promised wicked good propane heaters).

Our Christmas’ are never white, Jennie. They are always during the summer. I like the idea of a white Christmas, but I’m not sure the reality would be as nice.
