Today’s Quote

Soul Gatherings

If in our daily life we can smile,
if we can be peaceful and happy,
not only we, but everyone will profit from it.
This is the most basic kind of peace work.

About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty-five years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

I do try my best to do just that. Sadly, it is not always welcomed by others as much as I had hoped. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

In our modern age, smiles might be uncomfortable for some. SO many people live an isolated existence, thinking they are connected to their community but are really only looking at their devices. To smile at someone means to be vulnerable, to risk, to extend an invitation. Sure, those smiles might be met, at first, we resistance, but man, oh man, are the needed to remind all of us that we are HERE, we are PRESENT, we MATTER! Smiling at you all!

this is so evident in the eyes of a child. if you smile at a child across the room they will light up with joy. we need to learn from this…

Thank you, Robin. So good to see you here on WP. I’m not as much on FB like you unless it’s photos or fun quotes. My writing is here. Interestingly, if I share a WP post on FB, it’s not really viewed. Always happy to see your posts and photos! 😍 All is well. Best to you and your wonderful family in the new year!
