“Love what you do and do what you love. Don’t listen to anyone else who tells you not to do it. You do what you want, what you love. Imagination should be the center of your life.”

About Jennie

I have been teaching preschool for over thirty-five years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about. I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

My Dad once told me that I had ‘too much imagination”, and that I should stop ‘dreaming’.
I am glad I ignored his advice.
    Best wishes, Pete.

I’m glad, too! And it’s a good thing you you ignored his advice, as you are more than a great writer, you’re a tremendous thinker. Thank you, Pete.

Charles French always offers such wonderful quotes on any given topic and these on imagination are just that. As Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is everything.” and how limited the world would be devoid of it. I could add many more of Einstein’s brilliant quotes about imagination, but will limit myself to this favorite one. “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” Thank-you for sharing!

    • Jennie says:

Thank you, Ellen. That is one of my favorite Einstein quotes! And yes, Charles French has wonderful quotes on topics. Really, imagination is everything.

  8. Elizabeth says:

Imagination seems to me to be the essential ingredient in childhood. I love the ways you encourage it in your pupils.

  9. And I think curiosity too. Yes, Charles and Jennie definitely seem to know the secret ingredients for a truly worthwhile education for children and young people. Bless them both for this wonderful gift. It is so rare today.
