Driving the back roads of New Hampshire today.
Every town had pristine flags flying.
The flags seemed proud,
whether they were on a utility pole, or a home,
or planted in the ground.
Small towns and their many flags give a big reverence.
Thank you to all who have served, and to the members of our military who protect our freedom and our country every day. Those flags speak loud and clear.

About Jennie
I have been teaching preschool for over thirty-five years. This is my passion. I believe that children have a voice, and that is the catalyst to enhance or even change the learning experience. Emergent curriculum opens young minds. It's the little things that happen in the classroom that are most important and exciting. That's what I write about.
I was a live guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show. I am highlighted in the seventh edition of Jim Trelease's million-copy bestselling book, "The Read-Aloud Handbook" because of my reading to children. My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
Wonderful Jennie. These veterans need to be remembered x
They do, Ritu!
Lovely tribute, Jennie. People work hard over there, to celebrate your Memorial Day.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thank you, Pete.
What a lovely tribute to, and recognition of, those who have served your country and ours, Jennie.
Thank you, Norah.
I, too, will be driving the back roads of New Hampshire today!
I hope you get to see many small towns and their flags, too. A lovely way to spend Memorial Day, Liz.
Yes, we did, thank you. There was one display of flags and poppies in front of a church that was particularly striking. (I wish now I’d told my husband to turn around so that I could get a picture of it.)
Wonderful!
Thansk fro remembering, Jennie!
You’re welcome, Dan. 🇺🇸
Lovely, Jennie.
Thank you, Robbie.
Beautiful, Jennie.
Thank you, John.
I didn’t get a house mount flag hangy thingy up or a new flag purchased for the new house in time for this Holiday, but I sure hope to by the 4th or July!
There are a few houses on our street with little flags all around their lawns, and several more flying them on flag poles and house mount thingies. I love seeing them wave in the wind flying proudly too. There are more houses flying flags here than in my old neighborhood! YEAH!!!
I’m so glad your street has flags all around, Deborah. Warms the heart, doesn’t it? And more than in your old neighborhood is terrific. You have plenty of time before the 4th of July. Have a wonderful day!
