I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day! Mine is a very old copy now. I need to dig it out of storage to read to #1 Grandson. Of late he’s into chapter books. Who’s fault is that? Uh, er..cough, cough…Jennie! 😜😀 Thank you for the nudge!!
We just finished a Bernstein Bear chapter book…The Galloping Ghost, and he has me reading to him The Hobbit! His choice!! He can’t wait until Bilbo meets Gollum. Today we passed the Little Free Library Box that only has children’s books where we donated the Bernstein Bear chapter book, and he picked a new chapter book for me to read.
Summer reading is going well here I’m happy to say, but my voice is scratchy and hoarse from all this reading. ☺
I haven’t ever read Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse. I’ll look for that one in the library.
I love your stories, Deborah! Reading about your grandson and the two of you reading together makes my day. He will laugh his head off at Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. You will, too, as you haven’t read it in ages. The Hobbit? Wow! He might also like The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. I think Little Free Libraries are the greatest idea. There are so many good children’s books. I wrote a series of biological ones which featured the real stories of various insects. I was looking for an illustrator but I never got round to completing them. I never found that illustrator. They are sitting around somewhere.
