Rainbows don’t appear often. Every one is exciting.
This rainbow appeared this evening.
I thought it was brilliant, but no.
The grandaddy of rainbows was right behind.
He was brilliant. And, he grew…
…and grew, into a vibrance of color,
the likes of which I have never seen before.
This is right in my backyard. Lucky me.
Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder.

My class has designed quilts that hang as permanent displays at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, the Fisher House at the Boston VA Hospital, and the Massachusetts State House in Boston.

We have rain during monsoon season. The rest of the summer is bone dry, no rainbows then. We were very fortunate to get decent snow this year. It was so rare that everyone forgot the big snow in 2010. 😉
So, you will have lots of rain next month, then bone dry in August? Nice that you had snow this winter.

It was our wedding day and the weather broke – after nearly a month of hot dry weather, it poured with rain throughout the ceremony and beyond. But later on, when we were on our way to our honeymoon hotel the most magnificent double rainbow appeared – it was every bit as gorgeous as the one in your photo. We stopped in a lay-by to take a picture of it – and when I turned around, it seemed to end on the bonnet of the car. Yes… I know that is actually an impossibility, but Himself also swears that happened. As for the picture to prove it – when I went to have it developed, all those pictures came out blank and white… In the years since, when times have been terrible and tough – we’ve reminded ourselves of that double rainbow blessing just for us and our union. And many times, it’s helped. Thank you for capturing such a wonderful rainbow – right now times are tough, rather than terrible. And your reminder is a help.
