Nice post
Thank you.
You are very welcome, and thank you for the reblogging!
I have to reblog something this important. The thanks go to YOU. 😀
I love quotes, Jennie, and there are some remarkable ones here. “You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.” That’s a frightening thought, especially for an author! Thank you for sharing this lovely post ♥
You are welcome. And, Charles French, one of my favorite bloggers, posts THE best quotes. He typically has three quotes on a topic that is near and dear to my heart. He is a college professor, a writer, and a humanitarian. He’s much like you.
What a lovely thing to say, Jennie. I follow Charles’ blog but have been remiss of late in my ‘visiting’ duties. Life got in the way quite a bit over this past year. Hopefully it’s all behind me now. Thank you for reconnecting me with this brilliant blogger and wonderful person ♥
My pleasure, Tina. I understand. And, my crazy life gets in the way, too. I need a genie (and a laundry fairy). 😀
Same here, Jennie! I also need a fairy housekeeper 🙂
Add a fairy cook to the list, and life would be perfect!
You bet! Don’t know how I overlooked that one 🙂
😀
I love that quote of Carl Sagan – to read is to journey through time – brilliant!
I couldn’t agree more!
Wonderful quotes, Jennie. I feel soooo sad when kids and adults tell me they no longer read books. Instead they stare at social media on their phones.
They do. It is really sad. ☹️ These kinds of quotes can hopefully inspire adults to make a difference with children.
Great quotes as always, especially Sagan’s. Reading books written centuries ago really is like the next best thing to having a time machine.
Best wishes, Pete.
I couldn’t agree more! Best to you, Pete.
