November arrives with glorious color,
splendor in the leaves on trees.
The colors that began to flame in October are finally brilliant, vibrant
when November comes calling.
There are days of balmy temperatures and warm breezes.
November is saying come and play,
dance with me when the wind blows.
Look at me, the Wish Tree wishes children hung are still there.
Early November evenings are often brilliant, too.
Sunsets are as vibrant as leaves.
They make us stop and look.
November comes in like a lamb, an exuberant child.
November goes out like a lion, blowing away everything in its path.
The leaves are gone. Only the wishes on the Wish Tree remain.
Late November sunsets are pink and warm,
as if they want people to feel the same way, with winter ahead.
November is full of change.
Tonight we got “the call”,
our granddog crossed the rainbow bridge.
We’re in the car headed to see him and his family for Thanksgiving.
Yes, I know…
As soon as we finished the phone conversation
we rounded a bend in the road,
and this is what we saw:
Thank you, November. We needed that.
Jennie
Lovely post about November, Jennie. I love the fall colors and the weather (if it is sunny 😀) in November.
Thank you!
i’m sorry the doggie has passed and that rainbow had perfect timing
Thank you, Beth. It did!
So sorry for your family’s loss. You know how I feel about the fur kids and to lose one hurts more than some could understand. That last photo was a fitting memory. Thanks for sharing, Jennie. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks so much, John. Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃
And Happy Thanksgiving to you as well
A lovely reflection on November. I’m sorry to hear about your granddad. It’s always so hard when we lose a pet.
November is the opposite of March, and quite beautiful. Thank you for your kind words, Liz.
You’re welcome, Jennie.
*granddog!
🙂
I love the colors of autumn and November has not been stingy with her colors. I love the sky views also. I’m so sorry to hear about the grand dog. It’s always so hard to lose a fuzzy family member. Nothing makes that easier.
Thanks so much, Marlene!
Me too ❤
November is a beautiful month, Jennie. I love the photos and your thoughts on the month. I am very sorry to hear about the dog. It’s so hard when they leave us. Happy Thanksgiving.
It really is beautiful, and the opposite of March from start to end. Thanks so much, Dan. Give Maddie extra pats for me.
I’m sorry to hear about the family dog. Enjoy your Thanksgiving…
Thank you, Jim. Happy Thanksgiving to you. 🦃

Ditto! 🧡
So sorry to hear about the granddog. I hope your time with the family is special. November brought us some much-needed rain. We’ve been in a drought four of the last five years, and at least the wildfires are tamped down for now.
Thank you, Pete. Good news on the rain out your way. Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
Glorious colours, Jennie, with beautiful words 🧡❤💛
Thank you, Ritu! 🥰
A beautiful wistful post about November, a month that can become lost somehow and you let it shine out in all its wonderful glory. The Wishing Tree has a lovely mystical aura! Sorry about the loss of a beloved pet, never easy … yep, that sky on your way home was meant to be. Wishing you well, Jennie. Xx
Thank you, Annika. It is bursting early on, then sleepy by month’s end. Thank you for your kind words. I truly think that sky was meant to be.
Sad news about the dog. Getting together for Thanksgiving will bring everyone some comfort and reflection.
Best wishes, Pete.
I think it will. Thank you, Pete. Give Ollie an extra pat for me.
Ah we all need something warm and beautiful at times like that. So beautifully said Jennie. Thank you.🙂
Yes, we do. Thank you!
I did reply. I wander why it hasn’t gone?

Ohhh. Sigh. Blessings to your granddog. Our first granddog (our daughter’s) is a 14-year-old Golden. He’s hanging on for Thanksgiving, where we’ll all be. November is usually not so pretty here in NE, but this year? Glorious. Thanks for the lovely photos and sentiment. Have a Happy one.
Many thanks! I hope your granddog hangs on for Thanksgiving. Give him lots of pats and hugs. We have had a lovely November, I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Yes, Charlie greeted each guest with a (hoarse, soft) woof and a tail wag. We were all grateful. 🙂
Wonderful! I’m so glad.
Happy Thanksgiving, Jennie. Enjoy your brief break. I’m thankful for the wonderful WirdPress friend that you are.

Such a beautiful description of November, Jennie, both in words and pictures, especially the last one. My thoughts go out to you and your family. It’s so hard to have one of our family cross the rainbow bridge. May your memories bring some smiles.
Hi Susan! Thank you so much. I love the beauty of November and putting words to those pictures. I miss your book reviews and hope you are well. Yes, having a longterm family member cross that rainbow bridge is hard, but the memories are plentiful. 🙂
Awesome photo! ^^;
Thank you.
This blog was well written 🔆
